At one point a bank is robbed and the robber points a gun at the manager and is like “give me the code to the safe or I’ll kill you” and the dude is like “No!! I won’t do it!!!” and he gets shot.
Why was he willing to die over that.
Anyways fun movie kinda stupid but I got shake shack after so all around a fairly positive experience

I just love a really tight script. I want every little thing that is mentioned to somehow factor into the plot, and this movie nails that. The last 10 minutes is just callback after callback after callback and I laughed at every single one.
I feel like a lot of people see all films in two distinct categories: they’re either long speculative dramas with rich themes that win awards and completely shift your worldview, or they’re fun “entertainment” movies that ask little of their audience but promise an enjoyable couple hours.
Conclave shatters that false dichotomy. It’s engaging, it’s twisty, it’s funny, and it’s intensely memeabale, but none of that comes at the expense of what is also a layered rumination on faith, progress, and self-acceptance.
Also he walks his turtle and that’s fun
I feel like if you watched a TikTok edit of the coolest moments in this movie set to Little Dark Age you’d think it was probably the best movie of all time. And then you’d be sorely disappointed/confused/bewildered watching the actual movie that strings those moments together.
