  Overall I liked this film. It didn’t really break new ground for a sci fi film, but it was still enjoyable. Lots of gory body horror which I actually thought was done in a unique way.

  Cinema Arts Theatre.

  I really liked this film. Straightforward premise for a sci fi film, and all three actors (Elizabeth Olsen, Alicia Vikander, and Himesh Patel) gave really great performances. The straightforward nature of the plot allowed the performances to take center stage. I just really enjoyed watching things unfold, I could feel the tension, and I thought the ending was handled very well. Great film.

  Alamo Drafthouse Crystal City. 

  Great film, and another one that I had been eagerly anticipating after seeing the trailer many times. I loved seeing another team up between Steven Soderbergh and David Koepp after “Presence” earlier this year. Very well done spy thriller; so much of the tension and suspense comes from the dialogue and the script really delivers. Great performances from everyone but especially the leads, Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett.

  AMC Tysons Corner. IMAX. 

  The film was ok… but not great. It felt a bit routine, and the plot and dialogue were dull. Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford were good though. But overall it just feels like the MCU isn’t treading new ground. Also, it’s frustrating that the MCU is so sprawling that these movies seem to be referencing TV shows that many moviegoers, including myself, have not watched and probably never will watch.
