To say the film holds up is an understatement, equally heartbreaking and heartwarming as when i saw it as a kid, if not more. When it comes to movies about friendship, it's up there with Stand by Me (1986)

First rewatchA bunch of horny, and mostly self-centered french people talks about love, on a sun-drenched coast of Normandy . Where nothing really dramatic or important happens. Still, it's so wonderful, captivating and easy to watch. I love it.

Cold Mountain 2003
A bit darker than I thought beforehand, but otherwise it's the familiar sentimental war epic, not the best but a pretty good one. Stacked with well-known actors where Renée Zellweger is the standout, a crowd pleasing role for sure, in this film it much needed.
