  This movie is extremely Not My Thing but it’s fun and has superb fonts and butts. It somehow speaks to a deep truth while portraying a patently false, poorly observed version of Hollywood, including very obviously shooting France for LA. Trois etoiles. I liked it more than I expected.

  Make. More. Romcoms.

  Any kind of romcom. Doesn’t have to be a hard-R comedy, which this was marketed, titled, and ostensibly aspired to be to give it a hook and a green light. But at its core, it’s a cute and sweet movie in which the raunch plays the least. The trailer moments where Jennifer Lawrence comes on as a seductress make her character seem implausibly obtuse. But the male lead — he’s really funny! And once you get past the premise setup and the characters hit it off, it works! Make more movies like that.
