I dream in an analog world. Black and white fantasies greet my existence as visions of both past and future. I dream of times with you and times without. Nonetheless I exist.
“See you then.”
Regrets will stay with you for a lifetime. This is a heartbreaker, because there really isn’t a bad guy. You want to root for everyone you don’t want Nora to leave Arthur but you do at the same time. This just makes you think about all your past relationships in such an agonizing way. The opening scene setting up the conflict was great, the flashbacks to Korea, the two 12 year jumps. It was nothing huge but it was little tears into the heart that ended up leaving you split in two.
“Last year I died! Not this year, though!”
Hey, so this isn’t a film at all. Just a bunch of one-liners, cameos, and blood thrown onto the screen for over 2 hours. Jackman was the only person to bring a little emotion into this.
“I’ll see you in the beginning, friend.”
Great experience in 70mm IMAX. The in theaters experience that I missed out on during its original release was well worth it. Getting more insight on Nolan’s process during the q&a was also fascinating.
Overall this film is such a good watch. While at times it can be a little confusing, the more you get invested in the story I believe the more you get out of it.
