  Score brilliant set design brilliant cinematography brilliant acting very good

  But the plot… idk. I wasn’t captivated but I still enjoyed watching because everything else is so brilliantly put together. Maybe it’s a classic case of I went in with SUCH high expectations because it’s so highly rated and talked about as a masterpiece

  I’m sorry, I really tried. I don’t like biopics, I thought this could be different. 

  Timothee Chalamet is amazing and the strongest scenes in this movie are when he’s playing the music. But that’s far more a testament to an incredible actor acting an underwritten role. And the songs, well, being incredible songs before the film ever came into existence.
