Infinity Pool 2023
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
For a film with vomiting, ejaculation, beating-to-deaths, pet-play and nipples opening up to spew forth phalli bent on irrumatio, it’s bizarrely safe. Absolutely nothing interesting to say beyond some neat body horror, as a commentary on the ultra-rich, it brooches no new territory. Highly disappointed. Rather than a new generation of Cronenberg, it comes off like an unsightly middle ground between the former and a B-Tier Winding-Refn film. The music was awful and made the film more boring. The dialogue lent no gravitas to the events and only served to make the film more boring.
A Technicolor gruel of flat characters, unexplored world-building and wasted time.Translated from by -

the skin of aesthetic brilliance wrapped around the bloated flesh of drawn out malaise. I can definitely appreciate the artistry and deeper symbolism but I’m not going to invest more time in a film that I felt wasted so much of mine. Almost every shot and scene could have been cut in half, there’s so much repetition of the imagery which brings down the beauty of it in the end. I didn’t like it.

It’s not fair to rate this film as i only caught the latter 1hr35m or so
From what i saw this movie is 100% RAT ASS. It’s marvel/star wars slop tarted up with the sheen of Bong Joon Ho and Robert Pattinson to convince facile audiences that its higher art
The story is bog standard. The action is boring. The comedy is so viscerally unfunny that I honestly would have killed myself in the theatre if I had had a sharp object on hand. The ending is fucking insultingly dumbed down.
Toni Collette was pretty good.
