Boogie Nights 1997
I've said multiple times that PTA is a filmmaker that I don't understand, and I've always meant that as a compliment. This is the first film of his that I don't want to understand. No matter how well made of a film it is or anything about its characters or its writing or its themes, the fact is that this is a subject matter that I could not possibly find more repulsive. Maybe I'm missing the forest for the trees, but I don't care. I have nothing else to say about it.

I'm kinda baffled that this is so good. This is my roommate's favorite film and he introduced it to me, and at first I really wasn't invested. It's not until Ricky and Hector get lost in the woods when the movie really comes into its own.
