  No way! Bryan Cranston AND Dean Norris are side characters, both being, like, exactly who you expect them to be!

  I've said multiple times that PTA is a filmmaker that I don't understand, and I've always meant that as a compliment. This is the first film of his that I don't want to understand. No matter how well made of a film it is or anything about its characters or its writing or its themes, the fact is that this is a subject matter that I could not possibly find more repulsive. Maybe I'm missing the forest for the trees, but I don't care. I have nothing else to say about it.

  I'm kinda baffled that this is so good. This is my roommate's favorite film and he introduced it to me, and at first I really wasn't invested. It's not until Ricky and Hector get lost in the woods when the movie really comes into its own. The editing, the wacky side characters, and the gorgeous setting of New Zealand all contribute to this being a film that is immensely captivating and memorable.
