  This gets 4 stars on visuals alone.
  I love the mechanics of storytelling here. It changes like the movements of a symphony. As intended.
  The campy nazi fantasy/dream sequences get old real quick though.

  For a movie called The Substance it is entirely lacking any.

  Would have made a great short film. But that don't pay no bills, so we get this slog that doesn't know when to fucking end.

  Oh yeah, and the movie ends right where it begins. So the filmmaker said what they had to say in less than 5 minutes. The rest is just punishment. Oh, I mean, "getting what you paid for."

  The Secret of NIMH 1982

  A very sweet, dark movie. A blend of science, magic, and mysticism not often seen, and less often handled with care. Wonderful animation and design. Back when children weren't always handled with safety gloves, and it was expected (necessary) for children to come to terms with life, death, and that there is darkness in our world.
