  WAW, WAW, WAW! Ten eerste zou deze film verplicht moeten worden in elk middelbaar schoolcurriculum voor geschiedenis, in plaats van de eindeloze stroom melodrama's over WOII die ze tot op de dag van vandaag blijven produceren. Ik kijk naar jou, Breendonk.

  Maar even serieus: deze documentaire is zo ontzettend impactvol. De uitstekende archivering van wat er allemaal gebeurd is, laat zien hoe de koloniale machten, in de decennia van de mensenrechten na WOII, nog steeds verwikkeld waren in de ontmenselijking…

  How Martin Scorsese is still creating masterpieces at his age is a blessing. This one really resonated with me!

  A significant portion of his filmography revolves around organized crime, but this one is unique, and that's why it's so impactful. It's more about disorganized crime, community-based, mundane, and that's what makes it so chilling. Evil is like weeds; it grows subtly and everywhere. Just when you start to notice it, it becomes overbearing.

  The conspiracies weren't even smart or complicated…
