The Wild Robot 2024
Plenty of the tropes that I've come to expect from a big budget heartfelt animated film are definitely still here, and their presence makes this a bit more dry & overbearing than I would've liked at times. But that doesn't stop this story of friendship & parenthood from feeling truly earnest & heartwarming when it needs to. It also helps that damn near every single frame here looks absolutely magnificent.

Return of the Jedi 1983
It's got a little too much filler for the end of a trilogy, it's so creative and whimsical that I still kinda love it, but the quantity and its placement still doesn't do this film too many favors. And then on the other side of the coin is some of the best scenes in the entire saga. All in all a pretty great conclusion.

Plot gets a bit dumb at times, but the spooky gothic Halloween vibes are on point, and Tim Burton knows we're here for the spooky gothic Halloween vibes. Oscar winning performance by Christopher Walken as usual.
