  still as good on a rewatch, retaining the retro-futuristic vibe of alien and being a tense film all the way through. i wouldve enjoyed the film if it took primarily on the mining colony as that location, but what we got is still just as good. some creative choices took me out of the movie (fan service, cgi cartoon character resurrection) and still dont work at all but it ultimately doesnt take away from the story.

  being generous and giving it a like for the first hour somewhat faithfully recreating events from the various games it attempts to emulate. the second half is entirely its own thing and the whole movie would be better off if it were its own new story that takes place inside the town. it is apparent a lot of love and music was taken into consideration but the overall story doesn't gel completely when all is said and done. i suppose to the outsider this would be a good enough advertisement to play the games and experience the bizarre stories for themselves.
