I see a lot of praise for the character of David, but he just doesn't work for me. He's clearly written to have a god complex. His delusions of superiority are completely unfounded, naturally. But for them to work, he needs an other, someone to be superior to. Superiority only exists in relation to someone else. And yet he compulsively kills everyone he encounters.
