A Tale of Winter 1992
I love hearing Rohmer's characters ruminate their philosophical quandaries aloud with their literary-infused tongues and brutalized honesty. The way they wander through space is absolutely beautiful and it's of course no different in Conte D'Hiver. I remember the way they wander through the overcrowded modern streets of Paris all the way to the cathedrals in Nevers. Rohmer's complex characters talk in double-speak with their bourgeois dialect reflecting over paradoxical moments and indecisive decisions all while alluding to the teachings of Plato and Pascal.
