In recent years there's been a swathe of 'eat the rich' satires on film and TV, all with set-ups so similar that they might be being printed out of some huge MRI looking machine, one after another. Nirvana doc drinking game:

"They made being weird okay"= sip
"When I first saw Teen Spirit on MTV my life changed"= gulp
    "They killed hair metal/macho rock"=shot
"Kurt was the voice of a generation"=down the whole bottle

Beyond the obligatory cliches, some nice insights into Nirvana's gigs in Britain.

First things first though it looks incredible. Some of symbolism and compositions are gratingly obvious and the lush, ornate visual style doesn't align at all with the pulpy story being told, but taken on its own merits this film is undeniable aesthetically.

Yet while the aesthetics might be beautiful, the attempts at satire are ugly. This is one of the most empty and vapid films I've ever seen. Its an eat the rich satire that's…
