Huesera: The Bone Woman 2022
I really loved this! It has haunting imagery and terrifying scares. The movie is about the horrors of pregnancy in a world that values fetuses and hates women. It’s also about how to navigate that world while being honest to yourself. I really enjoyed all of it!

The Rule of Jenny Pen 2024
They did a great job a making a silly doll both creepy and menacing. John Lithgow hasn’t been this creepy since he played the Trinity Killer in DEXTER. There were a lot of interesting ideas about aging, justice, and bullying going on. My only criticism is that there may have been a bit too much. It felt like the film setup a couple of subplots that never paid off, and the ending was a bit rushed. I’m often leery of over explaining, but I would’ve liked to know a little bit more about Dave Creely. Overall definitely an interesting movie that’s worth a watch.
