Zach be like “Avatar stinks” but this is a 5* movie.
It’s a good message. They cooked with the soundtrack. But a little silly and some plot holes that maybe I am a little too harsh on, because plot holes happen and I’m OK with it sometimes. Also Jay Bareuchel was a little too annoying. I’m not a big fan of his except in This Is The End
Good stuff. Sad, gritty, dark. I just met a man who was a door gunner for Huey rescue missions. Said he had some 600 hours of flight time, picked up countless dead and wounded men.
The politics of the platoon was an interesting angle, I feel like I haven’t seen that much in movies. Maybe a little in Saving Private Ryan. But the Barnes actor put in a shift.
Also Charlie Sheen as the lead was a neat choice because of his dad’s role in Apocalypse Now

Golly…wrapping up my Jr year in HS when this came out (the world better prepare for our junior year). Now a graduate student lost in the world. Oh how so much has changed.
It’s crazy the pangs of nostalgia that this gives me. Because I remember being kinda anti-pop culture at the time, even though I saw a lot of the MCU movies I was still resistant to them in a way.…
My 4* for this movie might be kinda harsh. I think 4.5 is probably more appropriate but as I start this review I it plan to give it an upgrade and that feels weird, because I really don’t think my opinion of it changed much.
Captain America doesn’t shine very much, it’s very much a Thor and Guardians movie which I don’t like them as much. Well I love Thor actually but I don’t like his standalone movies as much.…
