    Deeply sinister and gnarly throughout with a creeping uneasiness that builds into every successive scene until it reaches the end. The soundtrack is unbelievably good. Overall, wonderful filmmaking on display from Lynch; maybe it's his best in terms of fusing his surrealist style with a genuinely compelling and captivating film.

    The fantastical Americana dream. The dark underbelly of society. A fucked up exploration of sexual and psychological abuse and the loss of innocence. This really feels like a prototype for Twin Peaks in many ways. Surrealism done in the way only Lynch can do.

    If your expectation of this film is to be a Fury Road 2 then you are already way off baseline and need to re-evaluate.     A dense film. There is no plot. Much like the previous PTA films I've watched it's about the characters and their relationships. Everyone has a master. Phillip Seymour Hoffman delivers a powerful performance as the cult leader Lancaster Dodd exuding pure presence and charisma.
