  yeah, unfortunately this just didn't do it for me.

  the selling point (kills) are mostly great, though the obvious CG moments are a bit jarringly poor.

  it also just struggled to feel like anything mattered, which sucks for a movie that (even with it's camp, silly tone) is dealing with a very obviously personal story.

  at a certain point it stopped feeling surreal or comedic, and just felt cheap. the second the final act started i just... i'm fascinated by…

  Better Man 2024

  watched a second time just to see if it was a fluke and... yeah. i liked it more a second time. what the fuck. i hate biopics normally, i'm very mixed on musicals, but something about this really worked for me that i can't even really explain! i just really enjoyed it, and the gimmick truly feels like a necessity this time around, something that unusually gives it more weight.

  it's also still surreal seeing a monkey rack up lines multiple times in a movie. we stan

  liked it about as much as the first one (which is to say a fair bit), was expecting it to be a lot schlockier based on the trailer but in a nice turn of events they didn't give away pretty much ANY of the actual good scares this time around. well, a couple brief bits, but never the Actual Thing. it was also more immediately intense with almost zero room to come down from the suspense it builds.

  okay this ended up being the secret horror screening at the local cinema (disappointed it didn't end up being maxxxine or longlegs but we ball) and wowww seeing this with an audience made it so much more fun. was so glad that people were actually joining in with it a bit, laughing at all the bits that make it clear its a satire. jason walked so that johnny could also walk but a a bit slower
