Luca is an amazing director and Queer is no exception. Beautifully shot with a dreamlike 1950's atmosphere and timeless in its themes of loneliness, out of sycnh love and longing for conenction (also helped its song choices that go from period appropriate to Nirvana to New Order).

The character moments and heavy parts of the story are surpringsingly effective, sadly it never goes beyond the surface level and are secondary to the myriad of cameos and fan service, that while fun, don't add much to the main attraction which is Hugh and Ryan's chemistry.
It was entertaining, but man that ending montage really got to me. I grew up with those Fox/Marvel films and enyoyed even the bad ones as a kid. So it was a nice homage to have those movies be recognized in some way.
