This one’s clever, you have to give it that. One the jokes and puns just go full force from the very beginning. And theres so much you gotta love: an epic toy soldier operation, iconic locations like pizza planet, bookending with arc. Good stuff.
And there’s something just really charming about a world full of toys that has its purpose in bringing joy to kids and I love the journey both Buzz and Woody go through to (re)discover that. It’s…

Back when Disney actually put effort into these live action remakes. Just look at the dresses holy cabooses.

Watching this during intermission of Pirates of Penzance is a choice I won’t regret. The theatre jokes, specifically the Shakespeare and Gilbert and Sullivan varieties, abound making this a “cultural tour de force” (Archibald's words) and a delightful watch anytime.
Omelette feels like “goes wrong” show with the Ophelia and Messenger entrances and other gags except it works toward a moral and really solid conclusion.
High Silk hat is one of the best Silly Songs. Period.
    Lyle is so fun…
