  I really wanted to like this movie. There's some kind of lore present. The Tall Man is sufficiently creepy and I hate body horror. Somehow though; it fell flat. I found myself bored and hoping it would ramp up. When it ramped up I was underwhelmed. Maybe I got caught up in what could have been.

  I have to take away a point for the awful school mascot. Another point gets taken away for the overuse of the mascot for an awful killer outfit. The movie is a "who done it" mixed with the popular movie "Groundhog Day". The killer's identity is a let down, but not as much as the upbeat ending.

  I should preface and say that this has been one of my favorite movies for a long time.

  There is a great charm in Studio Ghibli films where even the most mundane events can become magical. The animation really drives the story and makes the characters more than just art. The characters are well-drawn and have such large enduring personalities.

  Turbo Kid 2015

  This movie was very gory, overly nostalgic, and pretty darn cool. There's something magical about a movie that takes you on a seemingly low-budget journey and manages to make it seem like all the choices were intentional. For some people this movie will likely irritate and bore, but if you're like me and are nostalgic for the 80's then this might be one of your favorites.
