Better than you think it’s going to be, and that accounts for something. Channing Tatum somehow manages to make me not viscerally annoyed with his general appearance long enough to make a romantic interest that grew on me almost enough that I could ignore how much the plotting fails to pay off the premise. I mean Jesus Christ we get 5 minutes in the final half hour in any part of the titular lost city? I would say change the name of the movie but “the already inhabited island” doesn’t have as much of a ring to it, even if it’s just as unspecific and bland

the psychological impact this film had on my 10 year old self is rivaled only by the “wig on a box” number from riverdale’s hedwig and the angry inch episode but that internal struggle pales in comparison to this movie’s constant flip flopping on whether it hates women or not

She’s smarter than the beaver but the predator is smarter than the lion!! Just such a tightly written movie- excepting maybe Schrödinger’s mud pit every beat of that final fight was so subtly but clearly set up. Fully gasped when I realized what she had done with the mask
