  A rather pedestrian story is adorned with amazing performances from Hoffman and Streep (who both won their first Oscars) but I’m giving the MVP to Justin Henry (who didn’t win, but is the youngest Oscar nominee ever).

  Full of hard choices (not Sophie’s though) and pathos and a wonderful collection of noses.

  Okay here’s a secret:  I stopped this at the 20-minute mark.  Because it was too funny.  I was laughing too often.  
  
  I was afraid he was giving us all the wheat and I was gonna be left with forty minutes of chaff.

  I waited a whole day.  Then I came back to the special.  Closed my eyes.  Made a wish.  Hit the “resume.”

  The man has wheat for days.
