  when i was a kid i used to play pretend a lot, cooking using dirt and plants from my garden. once i was so immersed in it that i put a spoonful of dirt in my mouth. it made me snap back to reality so fast, and i can still remember the flavor. in a good sense, this is how watching woman in the dunes felt like.
