  Can’t hate this. Cate Blanchett & her office design deserve 3.5 stars on their own. The other half 0.5 star is for all the other sets & all the other actors, all of which are fantastic. 

  
  Overall, its a satisfying, dark little gothic melodrama that probably could have been a great miniseries with more backstory.

  Jodie Comer is fantastic & Ridley Scott sure knows his way around a grimy medieval epic. The structure is interesting, but it could have made the point just as well that Lady Marguerite was just an object that Matt Damon & Adam Driver projected their own subjective masculine narratives onto without chaptering each of their perspectives. In a way it lessens the impact, because Marguerite becomes the subjectively skewed hero of her own chapter, just like Sir Jean and Jacques were, and…
