The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover 1989
A dozen rewatches, but the first time watching it on the big screen, and in 35mm at that, to a sold out theater where probably half the crowd had never seen the film. Sharing the emotions of this movie with an attentive and stunned crowd was exhilarating.
This movie is still a masterpiece--one of the best films ever made. I'm still breathtaken by the artistic direction and costuming, the music, the direction and cinematography. This movie delivers rewatch after rewatch.…
