No surprise, the book was better, but I can't imagine how much more boring the movie would have been without reading the book first.
It's impossible to cover a dense eventful life in 2 hours, so I can't blame them for leaving out most of the chapters. The parts that are included successfully depict what scenes from the biography would have looked like, but without any of the charisma that is so clear in his first-person writing. The result is…
