  DETAILS AND CHARACTERS
  I love this film so much, but I have some reservations.

  Anora starts speaking Russian out of obligation to the men around her, perhaps due to shame about her culture, but later uses it to assert her identity. The film’s structure is engaging—beginning as an alt rom-com before shifting into a buddy road trip comedy with a group of unlikely characters. The characters themselves are well-written, which contributes to the film’s appeal.
