  If I had to steelman "Mickey 17," I'd say Bong Joon-ho has crafted an experiment in controlled chaos—and from that perspective, it works remarkably well. The film features an eclectic ensemble cast varying in both fame and talent, each carrying their own "main-character energy" storylines. The thoughtful sound design ensures off-screen characters remain present in the narrative space.   Happy to have caught it at the reopening of the Egyptian tonight.

  Film was excellent. Definitely a spiritual companion to Killers of the Flower Moon—in that they are intellectual exercises that speak about cinema and their respective auteurs' work—but this one actually succeeds.
