  A really tough watch. I don’t think this was one of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen but it feels terribly wrong to rate it, and important work nonetheless. Emotional and moving. People are on one in the letterboxd reviews talking about “she should’ve rebelled” and saying she’s setting a bad example. What on earth are you saying you do not know shit about shit

  Wow incredible. I wish I knew Portuguese just for this movie because I know there were subtleties that were lost on me through translation. 

  I am really just blown away! The lighting consistently stood out to me, it was purposeful and perfect. I was invested in the family from the very beginning. What an amazing narrative film. 

  A stunning movie in every way, even when they fast forwarded into 2014. I think it made sense and was a nice full circle…
