All our big studio comedies used to be packed with SNL/Second City/UCB/Groundlings grads, standup comics, or comedy groups/shows, so it is a real delight to learn that our most prestigious movie stars can be LOL funny. Mark Ruffalo, Toni Collette, and Steven Yeun have been Oscar nominated for devastatingly serious roles, but they can make me laugh HARD. And Robert Pattinson keeps reaching new heights in his constantly evolving movie career, coming to a new place of genuinely hilarious slapstick-y…

Guys, what’s going on here? Did everyone band together to fake review this and give it decent ratings? I got 30 min in and didn’t get close to a smile and was confused if any of the lines were jokes. I’m not the easiest laugh but I at least can be down for a good time, and this was absolutely not it or at least even if it does become funny, it totally fails at garnering any interest whatsoever. Woof, very weird one to be in the absolute minority about.

One of those all time *I’m screaming in my head “what the fuck are you doing?!?” at the main characters nonstop* movies. Hard to think of other films that made me constantly question all the mechanics and ideas presented while simultaneously, and much more powerfully, being locked the fuck in. I leave every Garland movie so ready to immediately start arguing with people with reductive opinions about his writing, even if I’m also totally ok with people not liking his movies and feeling baffled by his decisions. At the very least we can all agree this guy makes us FEEL things.
