Drumline 2002
"As you youngins say 'lets get crunk'."
God I loved this movie as a kid. I had the DVD and I'm pretty sure I based my personality on 2002 nick cannon. But I didn't make drumline sadly.
This movie is fun and if you love early 2000s hip hop then this is a treat for you. That's all I got.

The movie advertised, was simply the prologue.
And I really liked the prologue. It’s everything after that that I’m not sure how I feel about. A little wishy-washy in tone with a bunch of different plot lines. Definitely more in the space of Snow piercer and Okja. But also some very campy moments.

What happens when the facade of the American dream degrades?
Told from an immigrant POV- I love the hope and inspiration that comes from the opening of the film. This film is littered with contradictions. From the score to the visuals to the cuts and dialogue. So thematically act 1 & 2 become the yin and yang to each other. It’s not a new idea but It is still brilliant- and epic in scale of storytelling.
The vista-vision(when used) was incredible…
