This documentary had a really important idea that I hadn’t really thought about: not only is pouring money into Israel not the same thing as fighting antisemitism, but it obscures the true struggle against antisemitism. With the rise of fascism, white nationalism, and neonazism there are real threats to Jewish communities, and in response to this we should be pushing back against far right ideologies and figures. Instead, political resources and rhetoric are diverted towards the defense of the state…
