Answering whether I "enjoyed" watching this film is a tough endeavor. I think the acting is very strong especially Marianne Jean-Baptiste and it's peeking into what's going on in a very dysfunctional family.

My main issue is that the interesting drama only occurs about halfway through. Until then, you watch a very unhappy woman spew bile at every person around her. Yes, you could say this is realistic...but it's not exactly fun spending nearly an hour watching someone throw abuse…

The first half hour or so this movie had me worrying considering all the 5 stars I was seeing and how I ended up feeling about Flow. Luckily, I fell inline with the majority opinion on this one.

The directorial / stylistic decision made for this movie seem to rather divisive from what I've seen online. While it took me some time to get used to the styling, once I got used to it, I found it engrossingly immersive. Featuring really fantastic performances (In particular from Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor whose warmth radiates throughout the film) and a gripping but tough-to-watch narrative, I'm not surprised this drama got the Best Picture nod. Can't wait to see what RaMell Ross cooks up in the future.

I enjoyed this movie but it's definitely more of a "dud" for me than most Pixar films I've seen. First of all, the first 30-45min or so is very, as my wife put it, "extra". With characters constantly yelling and speaking at a billion miles per minute, I found it to be very grating (I was starting to get Mitchells vs the Machines vibes from the humor). I also found all the insane faces that the characters were making to…
