If there was ever movies that messed me up as a kid I'm sure this is one of them. Now and then for thirty years I had flashbacks of a bunch of people in a skyscraper being sucked into a hole in the ground and ending up on the garage floor where everything was completely covered in frost and snow. When I finally found out that this is it I also realised, beside how PG ratings should probably consider surrealism, that it's severely underrated.

Doctor Butcher M.D. 1980
The first half consists mainly of dreadfully pedestrian dialogue and dubbing as immersive as a call center greeting script that asks you to press numbers for 40 minutes before you get to the gore. I really liked the first moments of island gore action and occasional weird ass zombies a lot though. Before the zombies jarringly started behaving like the mad docs mannish lackeys.

Oblivion 2013
This was just extraordinarily boring. What made them put an uninvolving, anemic love triangle in space? Also there was a cave people that left no impressions whatsoever except that Morgan Freeman was their leader. I can't stand these contemporary space slogs with their sad voice-overs and horse-tranquilizer pacing.

Yor, the Hunter from the Future 1983
Ah! I remember this had a great theme song with some dazzling hill frolicking committed by the titular character. Then it quickly devolved into a laborious trudge in fifty shades of brown sludge.
