  Great classic Scorsese. My dad pestered me for months to watch it with him. For some reason I didn’t think I’d like it as much as I did.

  I somehow did not expect this at all to be really centered on the relationship of Sam and Nicky but loved their dynamic and the way it devolves through the movie. Speaking of devolving, Sharon Stone takes the cake and becomes so pathetic and miserable, such a good performance. Also seeing James…

  First time watch. This shit holds up for real, the tension that builds here is great, so many fantastic monologues and great character interaction between our three protagonists.

  The effects hold up fantastic. Especially the body of the shark and how it moves is so fluid it looks like modern CGI. The face and head can look bad but it is so damn impressive, especially when you see it getting stabbed over and over.

  Peak entertainment. I’m a sucker for miniatures, squibs, and prosthetic heads. The big Verhoeven 3 is a force to be reckoned with. It doesn’t scratch my satire itch like Robocop or Starship Troopers, but this probably has the most mainstream appeal and it’s deserved.
