The Brutalist 2024
There's a lot of movies about "the other" out there, but The Brutalist captures several lenses of it. The fetishization, the fear, the annihilation. All very much felt and described painstakingly.
But it's also about obsession and selfishness. Carnal, chemical, professional, even social in some characters. Obsession is a spectre that hangs over the main character.
Music impeccable, shot beautifully, acted perfectly. This is an "every five years" kind of film, watch this when you can.
