Felt like a refreshing return to a bygone era of cinema, like Scary Movie 2 meets Meet The Fockers (the best parts of both films without the worst). Elevated significantly by sublime casting of Parker Posey, Edie Falco, Lisa Kudrow, Brian Cox and Brandon Flynn who bring so much to this and save it from feeling juvenile.
It somehow manages to feel like everyone is in on the joke.
Quite simply gorgeous. Easily the film of the year and I so nearly wasn’t going to bother seeing it due to Oscar season fatigue. It’s so lush and moving and exhilarating, an amazing testament to its tragic and fascinating subject matter.
Fernanda Torres is the Best Actress of this season, no doubt about it and no matter what the Academy or any voting body says. Her performance here is in such a different league to Moore, Madison and Erivo, it’s sad it has not been recognised more.
Despite clearly being aimed at the masses, I don’t think there’s much in this for non Dylan fans, of which I am one. Found this really dull and long, and Timothée pretty one note though that might be more of a script issue.
I will say Arianne Phillips did amazing work on the wardrobe, I want everything he was wearing
