    dafoe, ineson and the wardrobe dept aside, this was almost entirely sauceless. it could be over for the eggman. skip it and watch romanian castle videos for 2 hours instead.

    much goofier than expected. this didn't fully work for me but enjoyed the charlie kaufman-style weirdness. does a good job of imitating grimy old 70s/80s NY movies to begin with before petering out in a much weaker 2nd half.

    As was the case with 3.0 this feels like 2 different films stuck together: the self-reflective episode 25/26 style and the apeshit CG-heavy battles don't feel like they compliment each other in the same way that the action scenes in the original series and EoE did. Somehow nothing seems to match the stakes of the original, but maybe that's to be expected in a reboot/alternate timeline/time loop/whatever the fuck.

    Feels like it was edited by 10 different people, none of whom have seen a film before. The CG could be from literally any decade. All scenes where electric guitar isn't playing in the background could be cut with practically no loss. And worst of all, Guan Yu is fuckin tiny.

    On the other hand, Cao Cao drifts a horse, so I was tempted to give this 5 stars.

    Drink when "corrupt officials", "chaos" or "The Heavens" are mentioned for a swift death and make sure to watch the crap english dub for that authentic PS2 feel
