I found this movie, which is based on a play, very compelling. It takes place entirely in the waiting room of a police station and has only four actors. It unfolds over 90 minutes in in real-time, with mostly dialogue--with painful and frank discussions about issues like race, police brutality, and what it’s like to be (and raise) a black man in America. I thought the performances alone were easily able to carry the movie, particularly Kerry Washington who will likely make you feel everything from sympathy to anger to frustration over the course of the movie.

Trust 2010
I didn't realize until the end that this was directed by David Schwimmer ("Friends"). It's hard to call it a "good" movie due to the subject matter, but I thought it was very well done and the performances were very good. It addressed how something like this could so deeply affect not just the victim but all the family members and their relationships.

Revelations 2025
I was surprised by a lot of things in this Korean movie--the respect shown for the police, the respect that a female police officer was given by her colleagues, and the religious theme. That just goes to show you that I don't know much about the Korean culture, so I appreciated having my preconceptions challenged. The movie itself was okay. Sometimes it's hard for me to properly judge a movie if the dubbing is particularly offputting, which it was in some cases for this movie. And there wasn't much mystery here. I also think the religious themes were a little heavy handed.

Imagine Dragons: Live From The Hollywood Bowl (with the LA Film Orchestra) 2025
Excellent! Saw it twice in the same week. A great mix of new songs plus older hits.
