Watched this with my roommate and the power went out half way through leaving us in the dark in the parents bedroom. The first like 40-60 mins were boring as shit but the last half of the movie was tense as hell.
This movie would have psychologically destroyed me as a child. As an adult, it was just upsetting to see kids in danger.

While absolutely unnecessary, still very enjoyable and oddly sad. Like Flowers for Algernon if Algernon had murdered seven people. It has some campy, hamfisted moments, which I think should be expected of a belated sequel to a film that didn't need one, though honestly I think its biggest flaw is trying to use synths as a horror sting.

It's alright. The performances are good, but the plot meanders too much and until towards the end of the movie, I thought the conflict was flimsy. Lisa's lame and apparently not down with insurance fraud, even though until the reveal that Bob had no intention of leaving it seemed like a pretty sweet deal: free money and no more shitty husband.
For the majority of the film I was hoping for the twist that her husband actually was dead and she was being haunted or having hallucinations, as that would've been far more interesting than the actual plot. Watching Lisa run him over was satisfying though.
Maybe I've just got a basic sense of humor, but this was hilarious. Of course this felt lacking without any songs sprinkled throughout, being the proto-Hello, Dolly, but the fourth wall breaks throughout were enough fun to keep me watching. It's a great silly, feel-good movie, and the wonderful cast more than makes up for an other wise unremarkable story.
