this isn’t my home
owen’s asthma progressing over the course of the movie was so vile, suffocating to death and him knowing all along is so vile. the way his face drops after he says “i love [my family] more than anything” i can’t stand this fucking movie. the body horror, music, and sound design took this film to a level beyond a majority of A24 films. The surrealism feels so bleak without appearing too fake, but it never feels like reality either. i can’t think about this movie ever again because i don’t want to address that my insides were dug out and left empty.
