  i watched this coming down off shrooms and the first half had me pretty mesmerized, in general the artsy psychedelic pacing and cinematography may be a bit corny but it’s genuinely really interesting and visually pleasing. but every tiny insurmountable bit of dialogue or plot completely went over my head because of how weird and slow and quiet it was. like i genuinely didn’t realize till the freaky shit started that nicolas cage’s character wasn’t called mandy. i didn’t even know he had a name i had to look that shit up. but then he started killing shit and i liked that
