Yes it’s messy, the tangents they do go hard, but it’s also earnest. In a weird way, this is an incredibly optimistic dystopian movie. Pattinson is fantastic, as well as most of the supporting cast, however Ruffalo’s bumbling Trump facsimile did eventually get exhausting. There are some great shots in this, one fairly early on stuck with me, peering up into a spiralling staircase as a sandstorm rages beyond the glass walls.
