I went into Wicked totally blind, having only heard a few of the songs here and there.
It absolutely blew me away.
When you adapt a stage play to a movie, you have to elevate it somehow, not only to justify its existence as a film and not just leaving it as a play, but to take advantage of the things you are able to do in cinema that you are unable to do on a stage. Wicked absolutely shines…

A perfect amount of fan service that's surprisingly works well in a focused narrative. It builds off everything that came before, in MCU and out, and does it all justice. An incredibly fun ride that is an instant superhero classic.
