I wanted so much more out of this film but a lot of it felt like fan service. And sure, it was fun to see Kathryn and Alden back on screen again, but Hello, Love, Goodbye was so much more than 'fun'. It was grim and realistic and hopeful. It handled the conflict of choosing between practicality and romance well; it talked about the struggles OFWs constantly experience--the fear of being deported, the abuse from employers, feeding your entire family…
sobbing. crying. throwing up. absolutely wrecked. this spoke to my goody two shoes people pleaser self and my roller coaster of emotions.

I think Maxxxine was not as bad as people make it out to be. First of all, Mia was phenomenal and as a character, Maxine Minx is compelling. She makes a case for women who are both practical hard workers and big dreamers. A conservative girl turned porn star who just wants to make it big.
