Man I know I don't watch like every kids' movie but this seems unusually nakedly Freudian. Like more so than Inside Out. Going-on-a-quest-through-the-Argument-Swamps-to-get-to-Mount-Divorce-ass movie. Just Pilgrim's Progress level of subtlety.

I think the scene that will stay with me most is the out-of-focus extreme close-up where he has a wet crumb stuck to his face and delivers a paced monologue about his childhood or love of pain or piss or whatever and then finally wipes the crumb off after you've been staring at it in abhorrence for ten minutes.
5/5 never want to see this again but consumed me emotionally.
