Das Yokohama Anfang der 80er Jahre war ein echt heißes Pflaster.
Als unser Protagonist ( Blues Singer in einer heruntergekommenen Bar ,Privatdetektiv , Yakuzafreund und Gelegenheitsjunkie) verdächtig wird seinen Freund , einen Polizisten, erschossen zu haben, heißt es für BJ in die Abgründe der Stadt zu steigen. Drogenhandel, einen Berg von Leichen, Homosexuelle Bikergangs, Polizeikorruption inklusive. Und wie es sich für einen Noir gehört gibt es auch eine schöne femme fatale und der Film hat alles richtig gemacht.

There's actually only a very thin story here, but the film still entertained me quite well.
A former boxer who doesn't really want to box anymore is drawn into the dark world of hostess bars and yakuzas and has to put his fists up again at the end.

Great music and rock-solid actors make it easy to overlook the many holes in the logic and make this Japanese film noir a good and entertaining film

Zum Inhalt möchte ich gar nicht soviel erzählen. Jeder, der den Film anschaut wird höchstwahrscheinlich wissen um was es geht, auch wurde die Geschichte der Gruppe um Hiroko Nagata schon mehrfach verfilmt .
Beleuchten die anderen Spielfilme mal mehr das Innenleben der Gruppe, mal mehr das Geschehen aus der Sicht der Polizei, versucht dieser hier deutlich umfassender zu sein und wählt einen fast schon dokumentarischen Stil.

Neues wird dabei nicht zutage gefördert, vielleicht wurde auch schon alles gesagt, aber wer…

Perhaps I was expecting too much....
The film begins very promisingly: a married couple begin to transform their comfortable little flat into a not-so-comfortable flat. The pictures are hung up, the radio and television hidden, the cheap ashtray placed on the table; only apple juice is to be served for the forthcoming visit.
The visitor turns out to be the son's boss, who is said to have embezzled a large sum of money, which the parents naturally deny.
