Godzilla × Kong: The New Empire

The truth is this movie was made better for me, because I watched it with my dad who wanted to watch. He seemed to have a good time, and in turn I did. Fun big iconic monsters fighting, with some interesting lore kind of sprinkled.

I don't think Godzilla x Kong is all that unique in any way, BUT I do think it's better than Godzilla vs Kong, as the humans have much less importance and screentime in this entry…

    Throne of Blood

    ★★★½

To me, this film is slow, and whether that's deliberately done or is just a personal take, it feels unimportant, rather...I experienced something tonight.

I love the word 'experience'. A chance to consume something new. The opportunity to breathe something fresh.

Throne of Blood is now the oldest movie I've ever watched, and I feel better educated from the experience, appreciating the power of acting as this is a movie that is an "acting" movie.

It's a rather simple story, but one that the main actor on screen, Toshirō Mifune, tells you in all his expressions regarding the impossible.

This is a great film that booms with creativity and silliness, even with a theme considerably earnest.
It has a few great tricks and twists, but more importantly, to me it was more than just that "movie I remembered for the eyeball scene".
I think it stands on it's own two feet rather well in 2025, with topics that are relevant more than they were then.

This movie also reinforced my fear of mold.

What is Saw? Had you asked me to watch this alone, basing my impression on the poster of a disembodied foot, I'd have said hell no.
In fact I already said nuh uh until this point, because assumptions suck.
I thought I'd see lots of nasty things causing blood, and while it still isn't a comfortable, warm winter holiday movie for the family, BOY it's a little bit more than what you think it is if you know nothing outside…
